How I Work With Clients
I work with libraries and archives, art centers, and individual artists and writers to help them to organize and preserve their collections, tell new stories about their collections, or seek grant funds for preservation or programs.
The beginning of any project is a 30-minute phone call or meeting to determine the rough project scope and if I can help you or your organization. After that meeting, I will send you a project scope statement for your approval or revision. Once you approve the scope, I will send you a cost estimate.
Work will commence upon your approval of the cost estimate and either a deposit or retainer. For work with a definite completion date, a 50% deposit is required and final payment is due upon delivery from individuals or within 30 days for institutions. For ongoing services, work will commence with acceptance of a monthly retainer agreement and first month’s payment.
Outreach, Grant writing, and Consultation work is performed remotely, with on-site meetings as required.
Rates
Rates vary depending upon the scope of work.
Grant writing services are billed at $75/hr. Discounts for grant writing services are available for cultural organizations and historic sites in Albany or Rensselaer County, NY; or for organizations nationwide that are working on documenting the lives of incarcerated individuals or supporting prison abolition.
All necessary travel is compensated.
